How to Adult: Teaching Life Skills to Teens

It’s no secret that teens need life skills to survive in the real world. Libraries are already celebrated as learning institutions – we offer books and resources to expand the fountain of knowledge, but what about soft skills? We’re here to tell you that libraries can help with that too! By starting a Life Hacks workshop series for teens at your library, you will be preparing teens for success in the real world.

Kayla Marie Figard, Teen Services Librarian, San Mateo County Libraries – Belmont Library, Belmont, CA

Kayla Marie Figard has been working in libraries since she was a teen and now she is living her dream, working with San Mateo County teens to help them succeed every day. Biz Tanner has been following her passion by advocating for and working with LA County teens since 2008. Erik Berman is doing what he loves by helping San Jose teens learn, grow, and explore new technologies and ideas.
